Let me introduce myself – my name is Massimiliano and, besides being the manager of the Maison Grand Mamam Chalet in Champorcher, I am also a hiking/trekking guide, with deep knowledge of mountain flora and fauna.
Trekking routes are available across the Mont Avic National Park, Sito Natura 2000, Alleigne Valley as well as Gran Paradiso National Park. In May and beginning of June I usually show my Guests up to the mountain trails and mule tracks of the Champorcher villages, across the magnificent world of local flowers and eatable wild herbs as well as of local historical and cultural peculiarities; delicious dinner at “Ristoro del Crest” with a herb-based menu.
From June to November my special offer include themed trekking routes and accommodation at the Maison Grand Mamam Chalet. Geology themed routes across National Parks, flora themed routes to unique and spectacular areas such as Alleigne Valley, photography themed routes with the chance of exploring habitat and behaviour of mountain animals such as chamois and steinbock; just to name a few possibilities.
Particularly beautiful the routes up to the Pian Tzan Pagnei Plateau, where chamois mothers and their babies live and run across the snowfield. In winter time snowshoed trekking routes are also available in the evening at moonlight.
